Quality Hinge Growth and Expansion
In 2009, Supreme Hinge, Inc. was founded by Greg Grimler and George "JR" Boss in a modest 3,500 sq./ft. industrial unit in Dyer, Indiana. They began manufacturing hinges and quickly realized the growing demand required additional hands on deck. Within two years, by 2011, the company had expanded to a 7,000 sq./ft. facility, accommodating 10 employees working in two shifts.
The growth trajectory continued, and by 2013, Supreme Hinge was operating from a spacious 10,500 sq./ft. manufacturing and office space with a team of 15-18 employees. The rapid expansion showcased their commitment to meeting customer needs. With an eye on the future, Greg and George were already planning for a larger facility to accommodate an increasing demand for CNC machines, presses, and an expanding workforce, as Supreme Hinge, Inc. continued to broaden its capabilities and service offerings.
A New Chapter
In 2015, Supreme Hinge, Inc. marked a pivotal moment by acquiring Quality Hinges, Inc., based in University Park, Ill. This strategic move gave rise to Quality Hinges, now a dynamic division of Supreme Hinge, Inc., established on July 31, 2015.
Today, our facilities encompass raw material inventory, a finished-goods warehouse, a state-of-the-art tool and die room, over 60 presses, and a dedicated workforce of over 40 employees. Our commitment to innovation is evident through investments in cutting-edge technologies, including the acquisition of a Fiber Laser Cutter in 2019. Guided by Lean Manufacturing principles, we're on the path to achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification. Situated just 30 miles from Chicago, our 25,000 sq./ft. facility occupies 3 acres of land, primed for future expansion to accommodate our growing sales and market reach.
